Extending the supply base of our mining sector client in Europe.
 Client's problem:
Our client is one of the biggest mining companies in the world specialising in the open mining sector. Some time ago the client, while analysing its purchase structure, decided to try to cut down supply costs, in particular the range of parts that has been used in its facilities globally. As potential new suppliers could be found in Europe the company assigned the search to PMR. |
Our solution:
PMR Consultants organised a workshop with the client in order to better understand the project needs and objectives as well as to present suggested methodology. Based on received specs we built a database of potential suppliers in Poland, Czech Republic, Hungary, Romania, Turkey, Slovakia, Germany, Sweden, Spain, Italy, Finland, Russia, Ukraine and Serbia for the client to review. Once this was complete we began to contact the selected companies to establish if they would be interested in the client's proposition, as an addition to the supply chain. The search results were presented in a workshop during which we also presented our recommendations not only regarding this particular project but also further steps regarding the discussed type of parts for mining machinery.

The result of the study was presented to the client both in form of a database, a presentation as well as further steps recommendation.
